Diagnostics

APPOINTMENT

When your pet isn’t feeling quite like his or her normal self, we’ll get to work to figure out exactly what’s wrong. We’ll start with a thorough physical exam, and then move on to more advanced technology as needed. Arbor View Animal Hospital offers in-house diagnostic tests. This means you can get most diagnostic test results the same day as your appointment! In-house diagnostics allow for faster and more reliable results.

DIGITAL RADIOGRAPHS
To better visualize your pet’s bones and internal organs, we offer digital x-rays. With the advances in digital x-ray technology, we can now manipulate the digital images that we take off a pet’s systems. This has allowed us to detect hairline fractures and orthopedic conditions that were previously not visible. We use x-rays to diagnose and examine broken bones, obstructions, arthritis, masses, and tumors.
BLOODWORK
We can run diagnostic blood tests in-house for a variety of potential illnesses. Our team will examine your pet’s blood to determine organ function and potential infections.
ENDOSCOPY
Endoscopy is the use of specialized cameras to evaluate areas within the body in a minimally invasive manner. In most instances, endoscopy is performed for diagnostic purposes allowing visualization and sampling of abnormalities.
Fluoroscopy
Fluoroscopy is a non-invasive advanced imaging technique. This test is a real-time imaging method that displays moving images of your pet’s internal systems, like the digestive or respiratory tract. This dynamic imaging is particularly useful for assessing functions like swallowing, blood flow, and joint mobility. Click here for more information.
ULTRASOUND
Ultrasonography is a diagnostic imaging technique similar to radiography (X-rays) and is usually used in conjunction with radiography. This technology offers our veterinary team visualization of the deep structures within the body.

Ultrasound allows for examination of the animal’s internal organs. It can also be used to determine pregnancy and to monitor an ongoing pregnancy. Ultrasound can detect fluid, cysts, tumors or abscesses within the abdominal cavity.

FECAL TESTING
A small amount of feces is processed in the lab and then our team looks at the sample with a microscope to identify any parasites that may be present. Many of these parasites are zoonotic – they can infect humans as well.
CT (Computerized Tomography)

CT scans are a non-invasive advanced imaging technique. They create detailed cross-sectional images of your pet’s body, allowing veterinarians to visualize internal structures like bones, organs, and tissues with great precision. This helps in detecting and diagnosing conditions such as fractures, tumors, and internal injuries. Click here for more information.
