We Are Now Offering Telemedicine — A virtual veterinary visit

Arbor View Animal Hospital always wants to be on the cutting edge of meeting our clients needs. We are excited to now offer a telemedicine service to our pet families in Indiana. Telemedicine will give you the opportunity to have virtual consultations with our veterinarians from the comfort of your home or wherever you are on the go.

In order for our staff to stay compliant with veterinary licensing regulations we do have to see your pet in the clinic for an exam within the last 12 months to be able to diagnose, prescribe or give a prognosis for your pets condition through a telemedicine consultation. If your pet does not meet this criteria our veterinarians can still provide a telemedicine service but we may be limited in what we can do. If it is found your pet does need a physical exam or we have not seen them within the last 12 months we do offer options. They include scheduling an in-person appointment for an exam (discounted when scheduled within 48 hours of a telemedicine consult), we also offer drop off appointments for exams and we can even make house calls (see our mobile vet service) to examine your pet if needed. Please note our veterinarians are licensed in Indiana only and cannot provide telemedicine consults to pets and owners residing outside of Indiana.

If you are a new client or existing client who is unsure if your pet needs an exam we do offer telemedicine triage consults with our veterinary assistants and technicians. These triage sessions are provided at no cost to you and our goal is to help you determine if your pet needs to see the vet. This service is provided to you for free because we want you to have the right information when it comes to your pets’ healthcare rather than getting inaccurate information from Doctor Google. Please also note telemedicine is not a replacement for emergency care. If you feel your pet is having a medical emergency you should contact us at 219-762-7267 (during office hours) or go to your nearest veterinary emergency clinic.
