Hi everyone,
I’m Stephanie, Assistant Manager here at Arbor View Animal Hospital, and I’ve been part of this amazing team for 24 years. In that time, I’ve seen so many changes in veterinary medicine—new technology, better treatments, and a stronger focus on preventive care. But one of the things I’m most proud of is that Arbor View is an AAHA-accredited hospital.
You may have seen that “AAHA” logo around the clinic or on our website and wondered what it really means. Let me explain.
What is AAHA?
AAHA stands for the American Animal Hospital Association. It’s the only organization that accredits companion animal veterinary hospitals in the United States and Canada. Unlike human hospitals, which must meet strict standards to operate, veterinary hospitals don’t have to be accredited. In fact, only about 15% of veterinary hospitals in the U.S. and Canada are AAHA-accredited.
That means when you choose an AAHA-accredited clinic, you’re choosing a hospital that voluntarily goes above and beyond the basics.
What It Means for Us
Being AAHA-accredited means that Arbor View meets or exceeds over 900 standards of veterinary excellence. These cover everything from patient care, surgery, anesthesia, pain management, and dentistry, to client communication, medical recordkeeping, and safety.
It’s not just a plaque on the wall—it’s a commitment. We undergo regular evaluations to make sure we’re continuing to uphold those standards. For me, after working here for more than two decades, it means being part of a hospital that truly holds itself accountable and never stops striving to improve.
What It Means for You and Your Pet
For pet owners, AAHA accreditation gives peace of mind. It means your pet is getting care at a hospital that values safety, compassion, and excellence. Whether it’s a routine check-up, surgery, or emergency care, you can feel confident knowing that every step we take is guided by best practices.
When I look back on my years here, I think about the countless pets and families I’ve had the privilege to help. AAHA has been part of that journey—it’s one of the reasons why I feel so proud to come to work every day.
At the end of the day, AAHA isn’t just about us meeting a set of standards—it’s about giving you the trust and confidence that your furry family members are in the very best hands.
Thanks for trusting us with your pets. We’re honored to be your AAHA-accredited veterinary team.
